From Raleigh, take I-440 W to exit 1 for I-40/US-64 E toward Durham/Benson. Keep left to continue on exit 1A, then follow signs for I-40 E, and merge onto I-40 E/US-64 E. Take exit 295 for Gorman Street, keep right at the fork, follow signs for Tryon Road, and merge onto Gorman Street. Travel 4 miles, then use the left two lanes to turn left onto Tryon Road. Travel 1.2 miles, turn right onto Lake Wheeler Road, then travel 2.8 miles and Sanctuary at Lake Wheeler is on the right.
