21 Jul Walker DesignBuild Supports the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
Walker DesignBuild is proud to support the efforts of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS), a hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Triangle. The IFFS creates sources of healthy food in low-income neighborhoods and provides opportunities for people to learn job skills and grow their own food. From BackPack Buddies to nutrition education, mobile markets to culinary job training to urban agriculture training, the IFFS goes directly to people in need and creates what works to empower them.
Thanks to the generosity of the Cary Page Rotary Club, Randy Walker assisted in picking up seven new wheelbarrows to add to the “fleet” at the IFFS teaching farm. To learn more about the initiative of the teaching farm, click here to view a recent video clip that spotlights what the farm program provides in the ongoing effort to end hunger in our community.
